When Packaging Ruins the Experience
Why packaging can make or break what you feel about a product

First Impression
This is what a bad packaging experience looks like. 😶🌫️
I recently bought the Be Bodywise shower gel. At first, I didn’t think much of the packaging, just a basic bottle. I was okay with it.
The Reality After Use
But after using it for a week, I’m honestly frustrated!
The bottle is so stiff it doesn’t squeeze at all. The nozzle is tiny, and the product is thick, so it barely comes out. I find myself struggling with it every single day in the shower.
Where It Falls Short
The product itself is good. But the experience? Not at all. And that’s the part that makes me question whether I’d buy it again.
There are so many great products out there that also get the experience right. And in such a crowded market, why would anyone go back to something that feels like a hassle to use? 🤔
What This Really Means
The truth is, half of a product is quality. The other half is how it makes you feel. And this one missed the mark on that second part completely.
BeBodywise I genuinely liked the product, but the packaging needs a serious rethink. Because no matter how good something is, if using it feels frustrating, it takes away from the whole experience.
A Note to Brands
And to all brands out there, packaging isn’t just a container. It’s the way your product is held, used, and remembered. It’s the silent part of the customer journey that can either build loyalty or push someone away.
In a market full of choices, are you designing only for performance, or are you designing for experience too? 🌟
